Is Rajini approached for SyeRaa ?

As per speculations SyeRaa team initially approached Rajini for a role , though he is interested but since the character is having negative shades Rajini turned down the offer and that is how the role was opted to VijaySethupathi , some in the film circuit says Rajini only advised to opt Vijay Sethupathi for the role and some says since Mega actress Niharika is acting opposite to Vijay Sethupathi as female lead in one of his tamil movie so she only proposed SyeRaa team to approach Sethupathi , what ever may be the case makkal selvan VijaySethupathi role is going to be very crucial  and which is going to be an asset for SyeRaa as per inside talk .
